In case you did not know, deviantArt's keywords changed to tags
. You can read the linke djournal post for more information/
Overall, while I am glad that deviantArt is making a change, I am still unsatisfied with the tag/keyword system for one reason: I cannot tell what the. Previously, when I would enter keywords, I would type the keywords both with and without spaces in order to make sure that I had formatted my keywords correctly. For example, if I uploaded a graphic that belonged in the Digital Art category, I would enter both "Digital Art" and "DigitalArt." in the keywords. Eventually, I realized that I had left out underscores. Still, I was always unsure of what my keywords were. Since spaces were used instead of commas, I was never certain if my keywords were separate or not.
Now, when I heard that deviantArt was changing the keyword system, I was happy. Now that I have used it, I still hate the system since I am still unsure if my tags are correct or not. I have been searching if users should enter underscores or type the words together for tags that would require spaces, such as Digital Art or Mixed Media, but I have been unable to find any answers.
If deviantArt wants an example of what to do with keywords, then it should look to Tumblr. When you enter tags on a Tumblr post, you are able to see word after you type it, even if you use spaces. Example: #Digital
Art. On Tumblr, what you see is what you get. So, I never have any confusion about what I am typing for tags.
Still, at least I have a slightly better idea of my tags at least.
Yes, I know that this is a first world problem; and that I am being stupid and (probably) missing something obvious.
On the bright side, at least football season is underway.
